Howdy!
Before the Weekend Push gets here, I wanted to share four albums that I have been particularly into lately, especially for folks who don’t listen to Erasable (where we’ve talked about some of them). So, in no particular order:
Crash Test Dummies: Jingle All the Way
This is one of my favorite holiday albums, and it’s only just been on Spotify this year. While the band has a lot of fun with a few tunes, most are just lovely renditions of some songs you already love.
The Cure: Songs of a Lost World
Robert Smith is 65 years old, but these tracks could be deep cuts from the mid-late 80s. Amazing.
Tori’s first album always reminds me of this time of year. Ten years after this one came out, in December 2001, I suddenly went Tori Super Fan. And I haven’t stopped. Of course, “Winter” is a timely track, but “Tear in Your Hand” is so “lightly” raw that one lady I know tears up when she hears it. (Bonus: “Fire on the Side” from Big Hair Days)
Arab Strap: I’m Totally Fine with It Don’t Give a Fuck Anyway
This one has been blowing my mind. Aidan Moffat’s lyrics have never been better. Never.
That’s all for now! Stay tuned this weekend for some new stuff and deals!
Warmly,
Johnny
